Why is the CD-ROM drive not reading a CD?
Err Msg: Drive is not accessible
There could be a few possibilities for this error.
1. If the CD-ROM drive is able to read other audio or data CDs, the CD that was inserted previously may be damaged and therefore unreadable.
2. The CD-ROM drive lens may have accumated some dust and may require cleaning. Please obtain a CD-ROM drive cleaner from any CD retailers and clean the CD-ROM drive with the instructions provided.
3. The CD-ROM driver may need to be reinstalled.
Follow the steps below to remove and reinstall the CD-ROM driver.
a. Click Start, point to Settings and click Control Panel.
b. Double-click the System icon.
c. Click the Device Manager tab.
d. Click to select the installed CD-ROM drive and click Remove.
e. At the System Properties box, click OK and restart the computer.
Note: The CD-ROM driver will automatically be reinstalled when the computer starts up.
