An Android TV is a TV that uses the Android OS (Operating System) from Google Inc. Android TVs have been included in Sony’s TV line-up since 2015.
You can use the following methods to check whether your TV is an Android TV.
Press the HOME button on the remote control to access Home Menu screen.
Android TVs display Home Menu screens as shown below.
NOTE: The following are examples of Home Menu screens from other TVs. Home Menu screens may differ depending on the models and apps available.
If the supplied remote control has a mic button (or mic icon), the TV is an Android TV.
- Even among Android TVs, there may not be a mic button (or mic icon) depending on the region and model.
- For the xxC Series, the mic button is on the Touchpad Remote Control.
If Android is listed in the Software > Operating System field on the Specifications page of each model, the TV is an Android TV.
