New Compact XDCAM EX Camcorder Revolutionizes the HD market

Sony today announced the launch of an exciting new entry point to its XDCAM™ family of camcorders. The XDCAM EX™ PMW-EX1 is the first in an innovative non-tape professional series, combining HD technology with innovative features to make the benefits of HD more accessible and affordable than ever before. While all current XDCAM HD/SD models use a professional optical disc-based recording system - the de facto standard for video professionals - the XDCAM EX series uses the SxS PRO™ memory card.

Sony celebrates European launch of XDCAM EX, the PMW-EX1 HD Solid State Compact Camcorder with world's first demonstration units at IBC 2007

Today Sony hosted the European launch of the latest addition to its XDCAM family of tapeless acquisition tools with the launch of the exciting new XDCAM EX™ compact camcorder. In addition to the existing XDCAM™ HD optical disc-based products, the new XDCAM EX camcorder, the PMW-EX1, offers all the benefits of tapeless workflow, selectable bit rates and outstanding picture performance that users have come to expect with XDCAM HD, coupled with new creative recording features and lens features which will redefine the standard for the professional compact camcorder market. Sony will show PMW-EX1 on the booth for the first-time, allowing customers a full hands-on experience of the features of this new camcorder.
