Sony arrives at IBC 2004 buoyed by tremendous news regarding sales of its revolutionary XDCAM Professional Disc production systems. Since XDCAM was launched, Sony has sold more than 3,500 units worldwide making it the company's most successful ever-new system introduction. At IBC, Sony is set to announce two strategically important new products within its XDCAM family, Version 1.1 of its operating software, new partnerships with third-party equipment manufacturers and a series of high profile new contract wins with customers across Europe.

WDR orders 487 XDCAM units from Sony
by March 2005, Sony will supply 127 camcorders (PDW-530P), 193 recorders (PDW-1500) and 167 viewers (PDW-V1) to the WDR (West German Radio) in Cologne. By means of the largest order placed to date in the history of XDCAM, the public television broadcaster is changing over its technical infrastructure to disc and file-based production. Since halfway through last year, WDR has been getting to grips with the technical details and started the first program pilots this April. In June, the administrative board of WDR made its final decision to purchase from XDCAM.

CO., LTD (hereinafter as "New Auto") announced today that the two companies have agreed to cooperate in the development of MXF standard-based XDCAM Professinal Disc System series, e-VTR network video camera and video server application system to meed the continuously increasing demand of chinese customers for disc-based broadcasting system.
