I have the same questions as the other reviewer- it LOOKS LIKE the lens hood is supposed to click in place with the dot on the lens hood aligned with the dash on the lens, but it won't align. Like the other reviewer, I am afraid to force it. My question is simple: is the lens hood SUPPOSED to lock in place with the red dot on the lens hood aligned with the dash on the lens? Yes or No. With the dot and dash not aligned, the lens hood falls off. I'm pretty sure that is not the intent.

The lens hood has a red dash and red dot and the lens has one red dash. When the two dashes (one on lens and one on hood) are properly lined up, the hood sits well against the lens, but when the hood is twisted to the right to align the hood’s red dot with the lens’ red dash, the hood’s red dot stops short of the lens’ red dash. I’m afraid to force it. What should I do?
