Utilising Image Blur Reduction, Frame Interpolation, Backlight Blinking and Backlight Scanning,
this advanced 200Hz panel delivers performance that is on a par with 400Hz systems.
The result is smooth, precise, and incredibly detailed pictures.

Using a cutting-edge technology called frame sequential method, Sony 3D HDTVs alternately reproduces distinct Full HD 1080p images for each eye to deliver remarkably crisp and vivid 3D pictures.

Contrast is the difference between a good picture and a great picture. By varying the LED backlight, Sony is able to achieve a contrast so high, it can’t be measured. LEDs also give better colours, a thinner profile, and higher energy efficiency when compared with fluorescent tubes.
Sony's Dynamic Edge LED Backlight uses local dimming to achieve an infinite dynamic contrast ratio.

With Sony’s most advanced image processing engine to date, you can now enjoy remarkably clean, vivid, and lifelike images whether you’re watching dazzling 1080p Blu-ray Disc™ movies or low-resolution web video. Sony’s phenomenal X-Reality™ PRO Engine analyses each scene pixel-by-pixel and uses sophisticated pattern matching to optimise the picture, ensuring you always get the best images possible.

By replacing the thin layer of air between the LCD panel and the front glass with a specially-formulated dark resin, reflections are minimised and contrast and brightness are increased. This resin also provides a suitably dark background for producing rich and vibrant pictures, even in a well-lit room, and enhances the BRAVIA television’s Monolithic Design concept by making the television appear to be a seamless black monolith when the screen is switched off. Plus, for the new range of BRAVIA televisions, Gorilla® Glass is used to increase the strength of the screen at a molecular level while simultaneously enabling it to be thinner and lighter than ever before.

This imposing design makes the television appear as a single, uninterrupted sheet of black glass when turned off. When turned on, the picture emerges bright and vivid, thanks in part to Sony’s OptiContrast™ panel. The sleek design also matches perfectly with selected Sony home
A/V components for a complete, integrated look.
*Bunchin Stand is sold separately. Please check compatibility prior to purchase.

By utilising an integrated camera at the bottom of its bezel, your BRAVIA television is able to accomplish a variety of things:
Face Detection: Automatically turns the television to Picture Off mode and, after a while, switches it off completely when it doesn’t detect anyone watching for a pre-determined period.
Position Control: Optimises the picture and audio settings based on where people are concentrated in the room.
Distance Alert: Sends a visual and audio warning when it detects a child within 1m from the television screen.
* Not available when watching streaming movies or content from a PC input.
