Terms and Conditions for "Auto Warranty" Service
1. "Auto Warranty" is a product warranty registration service for My Sony Members. You can register warranty at the time of purchase for the products under this purchase order. The Extended Warranty as set out in Annex 1 will also apply to warranty registration made under Auto Warranty service.
2. If you purchase the product through Sony Store Online (Singapore), you can enjoy the "Auto Warranty" service. It is deemed as your consent to us for using your personal information to process the warranty registration and including such warranty record in your My Sony Member account.
3. This warranty registration made under Auto-Warranty service applies to all products under the purchase order in Sony Store Online (Singapore), except any Playstation® products and other accessories, or the products which have no warranty as stated in the support webpage. No partial product registration is allowed.
4. We will take up to 8 days after the date of delivery to process the registration, after which your warranty for the relevant product will be reflected in your My Sony account.

Terms and Use
1. MY SONY MEMBER SERVICE (THE "SERVICE")
a. The My Sony member service (the "Service") provides a variety of applications and services to its members.
b. The Service is offered to you under the following terms and conditions, along with any amendments thereto, and any operating rules or policies as prescribed by individual applications or such rules that may be published from time to time by Sony Electronics (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sony SG") or any of its affiliates and/or subsidiary (hereinafter referred to as "Terms of Use"). Please read them carefully.
c. By completing the registration process, you are stating that you are at least 18 years of age or a minor with parental consent to use this service, that you are eligible to use the Service, and that you agree to be bound by all of the terms and conditions of these Terms of Use. Sony SG may in its sole discretion revise these Terms of Use at any time without notice to you by updating this posting, and you are advised to visit this page periodically to review the Terms of Use, since they are binding on you. Violation of any of these Terms of Use may result in the cancellation of your registration with or without notice or termination of your access to the Web Site, as well as legal action against you.
d. The Service is strictly country and area specific and the Web Site (defined below) is targeted at users resident in the Republic of Singapore. In order to become a My Sony member on this Web Site, you must register to be an e-warranty user or you must be a holder of a Sony product for which the warranty period is still running in which case Sony will invite you (if it has not already done so) to become a My Sony member.
e. Members should be individual persons and not corporate entities. One membership is allowed per person. Your membership will be effective when your online registration is accepted and communicated to you via email acknowledging the new membership. You will receive a membership user ID and password that may be used by you for all your transactions on the Site.
f. Use of your membership user ID is expressly limited to you and you may not transfer your membership to any other party, whether temporarily or permanently. You agree to bear sole responsibility for all use of your membership and for the confidentiality of your password. Sony will suspend access or change access to your account upon notification by you through e-mail to Sony that your password has been lost, stolen or otherwise compromised.
g. Only registered My Sony members may access the
services on the Web Site. You shall ensure that your membership user ID and
password are kept in a secure and confidential manner, and you must not permit
its release to third parties. You are solely responsible for maintaining the
confidentiality of your membership user ID and password.
h. If, at any time, you are no longer a user resident in
the Republic of Singapore, please inform Sony promptly by e-mailing us or
writing to us at Customer Contact Center, Sony Electronics Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd., 1 Venture Avenue, Perennial Business City
#04-06, Singapore 608521. Sony will reply to you with details of how your My
Sony Membership may be affected or terminated by Sony.
i. You hereby agree to:-
I.
be solely responsible for and take all such
measures and steps to maintain and protect the confidentiality of your password
(including but not limited to changing your password from time to time);
II.
take all such measures and steps to prevent any
unauthorised use of your membership user ID;
III.
taking all such measures and steps to prevent
publication of your password;
IV.
be solely responsible for any and all activities
which occur and/or any and all messages, information and other materials
furnished, created and/or posted under your membership user ID;
V.
immediately notify Sony if you become aware of or
have reason to believe that there is any unauthorised use of your membership
user ID or any other breach of security, to co-operate with Sony in all such security
investigations and to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Sony for any
liability or expense arising from such use or misuse.
j. You are responsible for any and all activities and transactions performed through your membership user ID on the Site. Any transaction or use of the Web Site under your membership user ID which is authenticated by your password shall be deemed to be on your behalf or as your agent, with due authorization from you at all times. Any transaction made on the Web Site using any of your membership user ID and password and through your membership user ID shall be deemed to be binding on you. Use of the Web Site by any unauthorized personnel is prohibited. You shall notify Sony immediately of any unauthorized use of any user identification, passwords or other security information, or breach of security. Sony cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with this requirement.
k. You shall acquire no rights to your membership user ID or password selected by you or assigned to you by Sony and Sony reserves the right to change the same as its sole discretion without being liable to you for any loss or damage of any nature whatsoever (whether direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, exemplary or consequential) suffered.
l.
You also
agree to abide by and comply with a separate set of terms and conditions in
respect of any purchase of Products by you arising out of or in connection with
your use of the Web Site.
m.
Notwithstanding
the foregoing, you acknowledge and agree that any contracts in relation to the
purchase of Products from any third party by you arising out of or in
connection with your use of the Site are between such third party and you, and
that insofar as Sony is involved in any such contract, Sony is acting only as
an agent or contractor of that third party. You acknowledge and agree that in
all circumstances your only recourse in respect of any such contract shall be
against that third party, and that you shall not under any circumstances have
any recourse against Sony.
n.
Information
and materials which you find published on the Web Site may be the property of
Sony or others, and may be protected by and/or contain
various intellectual property rights, including without limitation copyrights
and trademarks. You may not copy, redistribute or
commercially exploit such materials without the express written permission of
the owner(s) of such information or materials.
o.
You warrant
that all materials you submit for publication or posting on the Web Site will
not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, patent, design right or other
statutory, common law or proprietary rights of others, or contain anything
obscene or libelous. By submitting information or
materials owned by you for publication or posting on, or distribution through,
the Site, you will be deemed to have granted Sony non-exclusive permission to
redistribute by transmission the information or materials worldwide without
charge or liability. Sony reserves the right, in its sole and absolute
discretion, but is under no obligation, to refuse to post, delete or edit any
information that you submit or enter into the Web Site.
You agree that you will not hold, nor seek to hold, Sony liable for the loss of
data or the misappropriation or infringement of any intellectual property right
to which you claim ownership. You agree that Sony is the owner of any and all rights and interests (including without
limitation copyrights) in the Site.
p.
You
acknowledge that from the Web Site you can access World Wide Web content that
might contain illegal or offensive materials. You acknowledge that Sony is not
liable for any World Wide Web content, other than that which it or its
authorised agents or contractors directly author.
q.
You
acknowledge that Sony has the right to delete any of your files on the Web
Site, at its sole and absolute discretion.
r.
Sony may
terminate your membership or take any other action it deems in its sole and
absolute discretion necessary and/or appropriate, if it believes, in its sole
and absolute discretion, that you have violated any of these My Sony Membership
Rules.
s.
In the event
of termination of your membership for any reason, you will remain obligated not
to violate the rights of any person or entity with respect to any materials you
may have downloaded from the Web Site.
t.
All areas
and portions of the Site are considered public and, as such, there is no
expectation of privacy or confidentiality. Sony reserves the right to maintain,
and make use of, chat logs, and any other means that it deems in its sole and
absolute discretion necessary and/or appropriate, to ensure that subscribers to
the Web Site are complying with the rules of online behaviour above.

Sony makes
no warranties on the future availability of any content on the Web Site. It
reserves the right to modify or discontinue any content on the Web Site at any
time, for any reason, without any advance notice.
2. USER REGISTRATION, PASSWORD AND SECURITY
To use our Service, you must complete a registration form. You will select a password upon registration. At the time of registration and at various times when using any homepage under the name of Sony SG and/or Sony (hereinafter referred to as "Web Site"), you will be asked to provide Sony SG with personally identifiable information including, without limitation, your name, date of birth, gender, contact information, e-mail address, credit card details ("Information"). You must ensure that the Information you provide is accurate, true, current and complete. If this is not the case or Sony SG has reasonable grounds to suspect as such, Sony SG has the right to cancel your registration.
You are required to provide information about yourself for registration or otherwise which is complete and accurate. You may update the information online from time to time. You must promptly inform Sony of any: (1) changes in your home address; (2) breaches of security, including loss, theft, or unauthorised disclosure or use of your membership user ID or password; or (3) changes in your e-mail address. Until Sony receives notice of a breach of security, you will remain liable for any unauthorised use charged to your membership user ID.
You understand that any and all Information you provide us will be collected and may be used for the purposes of collecting data for identity ratification and records, sending you information about different products and services, maintaining contact lists for correspondence, compiling aggregate statistics on Web Site usage, processing your purchase orders and rendering services such as warranty and after sales services. For the above purposes Sony SG may share your Information with associated companies in the Sony group either in Singapore or overseas. To enable us to provide you with customised and personalised services, we use cookie files to store and track information about you when you visit the Web Site and this is done without you being aware that it is occurring. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for the form, content and accuracy of any material or the Information placed by you on the Web Site.
You acknowledge and represent that: (a) you are not younger than 13 years old; or (b) where you are younger than 13 years old, that you have obtained the consent of one or both of your parents or of your guardian, in respect of your use of the Web Site and your membership user ID.
PARENTS: Parents are recommended to accompany your children when using the Service.
3. MEMBER PRIVACY / SONY SG'S PRIVACY POLICY STATEMENT
It is Sony SG's policy to respect the privacy of its users. You are aware that any Information supplied by you will be retained by Sony SG and will be accessible to the Sony SG's employees (including any employees of any holding, subsidiary or associated companies) and other persons or bodies corporate engaged by Sony SG for or in relation to any of the purposes listed above or to third parties as stated in the Privacy Policy Statement as set out hereinafter and you authorise Sony SG to disclose all or any part of the Information provided by you to such third parties. You agree that Sony SG may release your Information when such release is reasonably necessary to (i) comply with applicable law, (ii) enforce or apply the terms of any of our User agreements, (iii) protect the rights, property or interest of Sony SG or our users or (iv) in compliance with our Privacy Policy Statement. You further acknowledge that third parties to whom information supplied by you may be transferred in accordance with the aforesaid may be situated outside Singapore. You are aware of your rights under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 to have access to your Information held by Sony SG, to request correction of your Information, to be informed of action taken in response to any such request and/or request that there be attached to your Information a statement which you can supply Sony SG relating to the fact that you have requested a correction. You agree to pay Sony SG the reasonable charges requested by Sony SG in relation to the time and attendances involved in complying with your request in this regard. Given the nature of the Internet, we cannot guarantee that the transmission of data is 100% secure. However, we shall take all practicable steps to ensure that any Information collected by us via the Web Site is safe and secure from third party interference. Once we have received such Information, we will maintain this Information according to our usual strict security and confidentiality standards.
4. TERMINATION
Any misuse of the Service may cause termination of your account. Sony SG reserves the right to delete all data in your account and bar any further access to such files, with or without cause at any time, for any reason or no reason, and/or to terminate your account and your use of the Service with or without cause at any time and effective immediately, without prior notice.
5. NO SPAM
Sony SG will immediately terminate any account that it believes, in its sole discretion, is transmitting or is otherwise connected with any junk mail, spam, chain letters, or other unsolicited bulk e-mail commercial or otherwise.
6. NO RESALE OF SERVICE
You agree not to resell the Service or use of or access of the Service.
7. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Sony SG and its parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, and employees from any loss, liability, claim, demand, damage, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) asserted by any third party due to or arising from or in connection with your use of or conduct on the Service, or messages posted or transmitted by you on or through the Service or reserves the right, at its own expenses, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, which shall not excuse your indemnity obligations.
8. MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS OF USE OR TO THE SERVICE
Sony SG reserves the right to change the Terms of Use at any time without notice. Sony SG also reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Service, temporarily or permanently, with or without notice to you. You agree that Sony SG shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or discontinuance of the Service.
9. SONY SG PROPRIETARY RIGHTS
The contents of the Web Site, such as text, graphics, images, music, logos, button icons, links, HTML code, trademarks, software and other material (collectively hereinafter referred to as "Materials") and the compilation (meaning the collection, arrangement and assembly) of all Materials on the Web Site are protected under copyright, trademark and other applicable laws. All Materials and compilation thereof are the exclusive property of Sony SG or its content suppliers or clients. Unauthorised use of any of the Materials may violate copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. You acknowledge that any content you received through the Service may be displayed, reformatted, and printed by you for your personal, non-commercial use only. You agree not to modify, copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, sell or distribute in any way content available through the Service, including code and software or otherwise use the Materials in any way without the Sony SG's prior written consent and for any public or commercial purpose.
10. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
The materials available on or through Sony SG and any of its agents or partners are provided on an "as available" basis and without warranties or conditions of any kind either express or imply. You expressly agree that use of the Service is at your sole risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sony SG expressly disclaims all warranties and conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Sony SG makes no warranty that the Service will meet your requirements, nor that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely secure or error free. Sony SG makes no warranty as to the use of the results that may be obtained from the use of the Service or makes no warranty that defects in the software will be corrected or that this site or the server that makes it available is free of viruses or other harmful components. Sony SG disclaims any warranty or representation that confidentiality of information transmitted through the Service will be maintained.
Sony SG makes no warranty regarding any goods or services or the delivery of any goods or services or the delivery of any goods or services purchased or obtain through the Service or advertised through its supplier's sponsors or advertisers, or regarding any transactions entered into through the Service.
No advice or information, whether oral or written, obtained by you from Sony SG or through or from the service shall create any warranty not expressly stated herein.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall Sony SG be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, resulting from the use or the inability to use the Service, from the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services, from any goods or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into through or from the Service or from unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data, including but not limited to damages for loss of profits, use, data or other intangibles, even if Sony SG has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
You further agree that Sony SG shall not be liable for any damages arising from interruption, suspension or termination of service, including but not limited to direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, whether such interruption, suspension or termination was justified or not, negligent or intentional, inadvertent or advertent.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of exclusion of certain warranties, conditions, and/or liability for some types of damages, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.
12. MISCELLANEOUS
The failure of Sony SG to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms of Use shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision of the Terms of Use is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or contrary to law, then such provision(s) shall be constituted, as nearly as possible, to reflect the parties' intentions, and the other provisions of the Terms of Use shall remain in full force and effect.
You agree that regardless of any statute or laws to the contrary, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to use of the Service or to the Terms of Use must be commenced within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose or be forever barred.
The section titles in the Terms of Use are for convenience only and have no legal or contractual effect or significance.
13. FURTHER RULES
Each individual game or service of the Service may contain other laws/regulations on top of the above rules and you are required to go through it before you participate in such service.
14. JURISDICTION
The My Sony Membership Rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and any dispute or difference arising out of or in connection to this Agreement or the breach thereof including any question regarding its existence, validity or termination, the parties hereto shall use their best endeavors to settle such disputes or differences through amicable discussions. To this effect, they shall consult and negotiate with each other, in good faith and understanding of their mutual interests, to reach an equitable solution satisfactory to both parties. If the parties are unable to reach any solution within a period of thirty (30) days after the commencement of the negotiation or thirty (30) days from the date upon which one of the parties shall issue a notice for submission of the matter for arbitration pursuant to this Clause, whichever is the later, then the disputes or differences shall be referred to and finally resolved by arbitration in Singapore in accordance with the Arbitration Rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre ("SIAC Rules") for the time being in force which rules are deemed to be incorporated by reference into this Clause.
