Want to really enjoy taking beautiful photos and movies? Just leave settings to Intelligent Auto mode, and advanced Intelligent Scene Recognition is activated. The camera recognises up to 33 kinds of scenes*1 for still image shooting and up to 44 kinds of scenes*2 for movie shooting, optimising camera settings.

In addition, Intelligent AF (auto focus) works during both still photo and movie shooting, so you can get stunning image results without troublesome camera settings. Since an icon blinks at the top-left corner of screen when the camera recognises a type of scene, you can tell immediately at a glance that Intelligent Scene Recognition is active. Capturing beautiful photos and movies is a breeze!

Intelligent Scene Recognition with Smile Shutter
Smile Shutter can be used with Intelligent Scene Recognition to capture clear, smiling faces in any setting. When shooting a backlit portrait, for example, your smiling subject will be set against a beautifully exposed background.

Intelligent AF (Auto Focus)

Cyber-shot is equipped with three different Auto Focus modes, including Intelligent AF. Combining the power-saving convenience of Single AF with Monitor AF’s high-speed functionality, Intelligent AF activates only when needed* for fast, tack-sharp results using a minimum of power. Moreover, Cyber-shot’s “Exmor R” CMOS Sensor enables the camera to focus faster in a wide range of shooting conditions including dimly lit scenes.

* Intelligent AF activates when it detects camera movement (e.g. zooming, panning, tilting, etc.) or changes in brightness, colours, contrast and faces.
