How to adjust the date and time on Android TV™/Google TV

IMPORTANT: This article applies to Android TVs/Google TVs. For other than Android TVs (2016 models or later), refer to the How to adjust the date and time (other than Android TV) article.

The date and time are automatically set because the BRAVIA TV retrieves the date and time from broadcast signals or the network.
If there are no broadcast signals or network connections, set the date and time manually.

To set the date and time automatically:

For models released in 2020 or later, and A9G, Z9G, A9F and Z9F series

Use the following procedure to check that the Automatic Date & time setting is ON.

1. Open the  Settings screen.   How to access Settings: 
   • Using the Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later)
     1. Press the  (Quick Settings) button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
   • Using the HOME button
     1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select System — Date & time — Automatic date & time — set to ON.
   • Select Device Preferences — Date & time — Automatic date & time — set to ON.
   • Select Date & time — Automatic date & time — set to ON.

For other Android TV models

The date and time are automatically set because the BRAVIA TV retrieves the date and time from broadcast signals.
When not receiving a broadcast signal, BRAVIA TV can also receive the date and time from the network.

1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
2. Select  Settings.
3. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select Device Preferences — Date & time — Automatic date & time — set to Use broadcast time or Use network time.
   • Select Date & time — Automatic date & time — set to Use broadcast time or Use network time.
   NOTE: If there are no menu items in Use network time, set to ON, then set Time synchronization to Use network-provided time.

NOTES: 

• If the time is not displayed correctly, there is a possibility that the Time Zone setting is not correct.
  Follow the steps below to check the setting.

     • Using the Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later)
       1. Press the  (Quick Settings) button on the remote control.
       2. Select  Settings.
     • Using the HOME button
       1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
       2. Select  Settings.
  2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
     • Select System — Date & time — Set time zone.
     • Select Device Preferences — Date & time — Time — Set time zone.
       NOTE: If Time is not shown, select Set time zone. 
     • Select Date & time — Set time zone.
     • Select Date & time — Time — Automatic time zone — Set to Off, then select Set time zone.
  3. Select your location.
• If you use a special network environment such as VPN, the time on the TV may differ from the time of the location (area) where the TV is located.

To set the date and time manually:

1. Open the  Settings screen.   How to access Settings: 
   • Using the Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later)
     1. Press the  (Quick Settings) button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
   • Using the HOME button
     1. Press the HOME button on the remote control.
     2. Select  Settings.
2. The next steps will depend on your TV menu options:
   • Select System — Date & time — Automatic date & time — Set to Off.
   • Select Device Preferences — Date & time — Automatic date & time — Set to Off.
   • Select Date & time — Automatic date & time — Set to Off 
3. Set the date and time manually. Select Set date and Set time, or Date and Time.
