Sony DVD Handycam & Wide Picture Play Back

When a user plays back the 8cm DVD+RW disc recorded in wide mode using Sony DVD Handycam (models-DCR-DVD703/DVD703E/DVD803/DVD803E) on Sony DVD players/recorders, most of the DVD players/recorders do not generate wide setting automatically, as they are unable to recognise the wide recording function on the 8cm DVD+RW disc.  Images will be output as 4:3 signal and a squeezed picture will be displayed.

How to change aspect ratio ( for 8cm DVD+RW disc recorded in wide mode)

• 16:9 TV

Please select [FULL] display mode using the TV’s set up* or remote controller.

• 4:3 TV

- For 4:3 TV which has capability of wide (16:9) display, please select [Wide] or [16:9] display mode using the TV’s set up* or remote controller

- For 4:3 TV which DOES NOT have capability of wide (16:9) display, please directly connect the Sony DVD Handycam with the TV using the supplied AV connecting cable, and select [SETUP], followed by [STANDARD SET] from the menu, and set [TV TYPE] to [4:3] on your DVD Handycam.
