Error: MEDIA or a line of dashes (--------------) are displayed on the LCD screen.

The camera may display MEDIA or a line of dashes (--------------) on the LCD screen for the following reasons:

1. Poor contact may occur and the memory card is not recognized if the memory card terminals are dirty. Remove the memory card from the camera and use a soft dry cloth or cotton swab to clean the memory card terminals. Then, reinsert the memory card. Make sure not to touch the terminals with your hand or any metal objects.
2. The MicroSD memory card may not be recognized if it is inserted in the wrong direction or in an inclined angle. When the LCD panel of the camera is facing upward, open the battery cover and make sure to insert the microSD memory card straight into the slot with its printed side facing downwards until it clicks.

   NOTE: The memory card may get stuck and will not eject if it is inserted in an inclined angle.

3. Memory card failure is also possible, try to use a different memory card.

NOTE: When using the HDR-AS100V and the recording format is set to XAVC S, the word PRO is displayed on the LCD screen. If you insert a memory card other than SDXC card with this kind of setting, the word WAIT will flash on the screen and you will not be able to take pictures. Use only an SDXC memory card class 10 or higher when recording in XAVC S format.

If the above steps does not help to resolve the symptom, the product may require Service.
