Restoring image data to the internal memory.
Note:
-
There is no need to restore backed up image data to the device after a firmware update if the image data in its internal memory is the same as it was before the firmware update.
You should therefore check the image data in the device's internal memory before attempt to restore backup image data to its internal memory.

Initialize (format) the internal memory before restoring backup image data to the device's internal memory. The procedures for initializing (formatting) the internal memory are shown below.

Display the menu using the remote control or by pressing the
MENU button. Select
Various Settings on the menu using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.

Select
Format internal memory using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
-
Select
Yes using the Direction(

) button, and press
ENTER.
The internal memory will be initialized (formatted).

The following message is displayed when the initialization of the internal memory has finished. Press the
ENTER button to delete the message.
The methods for restoring backup image data to the device's internal memory are shown below. The methods vary according to the way in which the image data was backed up.

Restoring data that has been backed up to a computer (installed with Windows)
Remove any memory cards that may be inserted into the digital photo frame's memory card slots.
Note: The instructions below assume that you are using Windows Vista. The screen displays in these instructions may vary depending on the operating environment that you are using.

Turn on the digital photo frame

After a few seconds, the Demo Mode screen shown above is displayed on the device's LCD screen.

Connect the device to computer using a USB cable.
Check that the device's LCD screen has the following display,
- See "Connecting to a computer" in the device's Operating Instructions for details on how to connect a USB cable.
- When you connect a USB cable, some windows on the computer may open automatically. If this happens, please close any open windows.

Double-click and open the desktop folder that contains the image data that has been backed up to the computer.

Open
Computer. Double-click the
Removable Disk icon that represents the photo frame and open the window.
-
Click
Select All on the "Organize" menu at the top of the "New Folder" window that was opened in Step 3.
All the folders and files in the "New Folder" are selected.

Click
Copy on the "Organize" menu at the top of the "New Folder" window that was opened in Step 3.
-
Click
Paste on the "Organize" menu at the top of the removable disk window for the photo frame that was opened in Step 4.
The image data that had been backed up to the computer is copied to the device's internal memory.

Disconnect the USB cable after you have finished copying the images.
Before disconnecting the USB cable from the computer, please perform the following operations.
(The same applies to turning off the digital photo frame while the computer is being used.)
Note: If the USB cable is not removed correctly, the data stored in the recording medium may be damaged.
(1) Right-click Safety Remove Hardware on the computer's task tray (usually at the bottom right-hand section of the screen), and click Safety remove USB Mass Storage Device - Drive(F:).
(*The drive name varies according to the computer's operating environment. (In this example, F))
(2) Disconnect the USB cable, or remove the recording medium, after "This device can be safety removed from the computer" is displayed.

This completes the restoration.
If you are using a Macintosh
Note: The screen displays in these instructions may vary depending on the operating environment that you are using.

Turn on the digital photo frame

After a few seconds, the Demo Mode screen shown above is displayed on the device's LCD screen.

Connect the device to computer using a USB cable.
Check that the device's LCD screen has the following display,

Also, check that the "Removable Disk" icon representing the photo frame is displayed on the computer's desktop.
(The name of the icon may be "Unlabeled", "Untitled", "NO NAME" or some other name.)
- See "Connecting to a computer" in the device's Operating Instructions for details on how to connect a USB cable.
- When you connect a USB cable, some windows and applications may automatically open and start up on the computer. If this happens, please close all windows and applications.

Double-click and open the desktop folder that contains the image data that has been backed up to the computer.

Double-click the
Removable Disk icon on the desktop that represents the photo frame and open the window.

Click the
untitled folder that was opened in Step 3, and click
Select All on the
Edit menu at the top of the computer screen.
All the folders and files in the "untitled folder" are selected.

Click
Copy 6 items on the "Edit" menu at the top of the computer screen.
Note: The number of items in "Copy 6 items" varies according to the number of selected folders and files. In this example, six folders and files have been selected.

Click the removable disk window for the photo frame that was opened in Step 4, and click
Paste items on the
Edit menu at the top of the computer screen.

The image data that had been backed up to the computer is copied to the device's internal memory.

Disconnect the USB cable after you have finished copying the images.
Before disconnecting the USB cable from the computer, please perform the following operations.
(The same applies to turning off the digital photo frame while the computer is being used.)
Note: If the USB cable is not removed correctly, the data stored in the device may be damaged.
Drag the USB disk drive (removable disk) icon to "Trash", and disconnect the USB cable.
When disconnecting the USB cable, check that the device's access light is not on.
Sometimes the file transfer may still be ongoing even though it may look as if it has finished on the computer screen.
If you disconnect the USB cable or remove the recording medium during file transfer, the data stored in the recording medium may get damaged.

This completes the restoration.
Restoring data that has been backed up to a memory card

Turn on the digital photo frame
After a few seconds, the Demo Mode screen shown above is displayed on the device's LCD screen.

Insert the memory card containing the backup image data in memory card slot on the device.

The images saved on the memory card are displayed on the device's LCD screen.

Change the "Image file size" to "Original".
(3.1) Display the menu using the remote control or by pressing the
MENU button. Select
Various Settings on the menu using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
(3.2) Select
General Settings using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
(3.3) Select
Image file size using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
Select
Original using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
(3.4) Press the
MENU button to close the menu.

Copy the images from the memory card to the device's internal memory.
(4.1) Display the menu using the remote control or by pressing the
MENU button. Select
Add to album on the menu using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
(4.2) Select
All images using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
(4.3) Select
Yes using the Direction(

) button, and press the
ENTER button.
The images in the memory card are copied to the device's internal memory.
(4.4) The following message is displayed when the copying has finished. Press the
ENTER button to delete the message.
