Windows XP drivers and applications for VGN-CR2 Series(Individual drivers)

IMPORTANT: Before proceeding with the upgrade, disconnect all external hardware devices, including PC Cards etc.
Note: Before proceeding, ensure that the VAIO computer is operated using the supplied AC adapter.
Note: Save all data/files and close all running programs.

         ATI Models:
         1. AV Mode Button can not be used.
         2. Instant On mode can not be used.

         Intel model:
         1. AV Mode Button can not be used.
         2. Instant On mode can not be used.
         3. Fn+F5 and Fn+F6(Brightness control) can not be used.

1. To install Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Chipset.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

2. To install Intel Graphics Driver
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

Please double check the H/W SPEC if the unit is built-in Intel Graphics Device please install this driver if the unit is buit-in ATI Graphics Device please skip this step.
1. Execute Graphics-Intel.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

3. To install Graphic-ATI Driver
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

Please double check the H/W SPEC if the unit is built-in ATI Graphics Device please install this driver if the unit is buit-in Intel Graphics Device please skip this step.
1. Execute Graphics-ATI.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

4. To install Hotfix - kb835221.exe
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute KB835221.exe file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

5. To install Realtek High Definition Audio CODEC
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Audio.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

6. To install HDAUDIO SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Modem.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

7. To install TouchChip Fingprinter Coprocessor
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Fingerprinter.EXE.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

8. To install Texas Instruments PCIXX12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Memory_Sticker_Driver.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

9. To install Memory Stick Hotfix
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Memory_Sticker_Icon.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

 

10. To install Synaptics PS/2 Port Pointing Device
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Pointing.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

11. To install Intel PROSet/Wireless
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute WirelessLAN-Intel.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

12. To install Atheros Wireless Driver
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute WirelessLan-Atheros.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

13. To install Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute LAN.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

14. To install SonyNC Device
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute SonyNC.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

15. To install Sony Image Conversion Filter Driver
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Sony_Image_Filter.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

16. To install VGP-VCC6 Camera Module Driver
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Camera.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

17. To install Bluetooth Driver
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Please put the WIRELESS switch to “ON” before install.
2. Execute Bluetooth.EXE file.
3. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
5. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

18. To install Sony Shared Library
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Sony_Shared_Library.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

19. To install Sony Utilities DLL
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Sony_Utilities_DLL.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

20. To install Setting Utility Series
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Setting_Utility_Series.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

 

21. To install VAIO Event Service
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute VAIO_Event _Service.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

22. To install Vaio Event Service Hotfix
VGN-CR25G, VGN-CR26GN, VGN-CR23M, VGN-CR25S, VGN-CR22G, VGN-CR23G, VGN-CR24G, VGN-CR26MN, VGN-CR23S

1. Execute Vaio_Event_Service_Hotfix.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

23. To install VAIO Control Center

1. Execute VAIO_Control_Center.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.

24. To install VAIO Power Management
