Windows XP Downgrade Drivers and Applications for VGN-FZ2 Series(Zip File)

IMPORTANT: Before proceeding with the upgrade, disconnect all external hardware devices, including PC Cards etc.
Note: Before proceeding, ensure that the VAIO computer is operated using the supplied AC adapter.
Note: Save all data/files and close all running programs.

1. AV Mode Button can not be used.
2. Instant On mode can not be used.
3. Fn+F5/Fn+F6 Function Key(Brightness Control) can not be used.
4. Fn+F10(Zoom in/out function) can not be used.
5. When connect with HDMI, the sound output does not work.

1. To install Windows XP Drivers for VGN-FZ2 Series
VGN-FZ25S, VGN-FZ25G, VGN-FZ27G, VGN-FZ28S, VGN-FZ28G, VGN-FZ25M, VGN-FZ25GN

Download the VGN-FZ2-drivers.zip (178 MB) to a temporary or download directory (Please note this directory for reference. Make sure the size of the downloaded file is the same as indicated. If the size is different, please download the file again.) Then launch and install the file as below.

SATA Driver
1. Please find one external floppy disk drive and connect with the unit.
2. Please insert a blank formatted floppy disk into the external floppy disk drive, and unzip the download Zip file.
3. Please copy these 8 unzip files to the blank formatted floppy disk.
4. Start the Microsoft® Windows® Operating System setup by booting from the installation CD.
5. At the beginning of the Operating System setup, press theF6 key to install a third-party SAST or RAID driver.
6. When prompted, insert the floppy disk with the SATA driver files.
7. After reading the floppy disk, the SATA Controller will be presented. Select this driver to install l(Please choose option 2). Finish the Windows® Operating System installation and install all necessary drivers.

Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility
1. Execute \Drivers\Chipset.exe file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS Driver
1.1. Check that ther buit-in graphics driver is NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS Driver. If it is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT, skip this step.
2. Execute \Drivers\ Graphics-NVIDIA.EXE file。
3. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
5. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT Driver
1. Check that the buit-in graphics driver is NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT Driver. If it is NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GS, skip this step.
2. Execute \Drivers\Graphics-NVIDIA1.EXE file.
3. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
5. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Hotfix - kb835221
1. Execute \Drivers\KB835221.exe file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

SigmaTelHigh Definition Audio CODEC
1. Execute \Drivers\ Audio.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

HDAUDIO SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP
1. Execute \Drivers\Modem.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

TexasInstruments PCIXX12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
1. Execute \Drivers\ Memory_stick.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Memory Stick Hotfix
1. Execute \Drivers\Memory_Stick_Icon.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

AlpsPointing device for VAIO
1. Execute \Drivers\Pointing.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Touchpad Registry Patch
1. Execute \Drivers\ Touchpad_Registry_Patch.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

PROSet/Wireless
1. Execute \Drivers\ Wireless_LAN.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
1. Execute \Drivers\LAN.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

SonyNCDevice
1. Execute \Drivers\SonyNC.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.

Sony Image Conversion Filter Driver
1. Execute \Drivers\SonyImgF.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VGP-VCC5 Camera Module Driver
1. Execute \Drivers\Camera.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Bluetooth Driver
1. Please put the WIRELESS switch to “ON” before install.
2. Execute \Drivers\Bluetooth.EXE file。
3. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

5. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

2. To install Windows XP Applications for VGN-FZ2 Series
VGN-FZ25S, VGN-FZ25G, VGN-FZ27G, VGN-FZ28S, VGN-FZ28G, VGN-FZ25M, VGN-FZ25GN

Download the VGN-FZ2-application.zip (52.4 MB) to a temporary or download directory (Please note this directory for reference. Make sure the size of the downloaded file is the same as indicated. If the size is different, please download the file again.) Then launch and install the file as below.

Sony Shared Library
1. Execute \ applications \Sony_Shared_Library.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Sony Utilities DLL
1. Execute \ applications \Sony_Utilities_DLL.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VAIO Event Service
1. Execute \ applications \VAIO_Event_Service.EXEfile。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Setting Utility Series
1. Execute \ applications \Setting_Utility_Series.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Vaio Event Service Hotfix
1. Execute \ applications \ Vaio_Event_Service_Hotfix.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

VAIO Control Center
1. Execute \ applications \VAIO_Control_Center.EXE file。

1. Execute \ applications \VAIO_Power_Management.EXE file。

Wireless Switch Setting Utility
1. Execute \ applications \ Wireless_Switch_Setting_Utility.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VAIO Camera Utility
1. Execute \applications\VAIO_Camera_Utility.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VAIO Camera Capture Utility
1. Execute \ applications \ VAIO_Camera_Capture_Utility.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

3. To install install order for VGN-FZ2 Series
VGN-FZ25S, VGN-FZ25G, VGN-FZ27G, VGN-FZ28S, VGN-FZ28G, VGN-FZ25M, VGN-FZ25GN
