Windows XP Downgrade Drivers and Applications for VGN-N2 and N3 Series(Zip File)

IMPORTANT: Before proceeding with the upgrade, disconnect all external hardware devices, including PC Cards etc.
Note: Before proceeding, ensure that the VAIO computer is operated using the supplied AC adapter.
Note: Save all data/files and close all running programs.

 

1. To install Windows XP Drivers for VGN-N2&N3 Series
VGN-N27GH, VGN-N27SH, VGN-N37GH, VGN-N27MH, VGN-N37MH

Download the VGN-N2_N3-drivers.zip (63.8 MB) to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference. Make sure the size of the downloaded file is the same as indicated. If the size is different, please download the file again.) Then launch and install the file as below.

Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility
1. Execute \Drivers\ChipSet.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Mobile Intel® 945GM Express Chipset Family Driver
1. Execute \Drivers\Video.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Hotfix - kb835221.exe
1. Execute \Drivers\KB835221.exe file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
1. Execute \Drivers\Audio.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

HDAUDIO SoftV92 Data Fax Modem with SmartCP
1. Execute \Drivers\Modem.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

TexasInstruments PCIXX12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
1. Execute \Drivers\FlashMedia.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

AlpsPointing device for VAIO
1. Execute \Drivers\Pointing.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

WirelessLAN Driver
1. Please double check the built-in Wireless LAN Device’s type. If it isIntelWireless LAN device, please execute \Drivers\WirelessLAN2.exe to install。If it isAtherosWireless LAN Device, please execute \Drivers\WirelessLAN1.exe to install.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Marvell Yukon 88E8036 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller
1. Execute \Drivers\Network.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

SonyNCDevice
1. Execute \Drivers\SonyNC.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Memory Stick Hotfix
1. Execute \Drivers\Memory_Stick_Icon.EXE file.
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

 

 

2. To install Windows XP Applications for VGN-N2&N3 Series
VGN-N27GH, VGN-N27SH, VGN-N37GH, VGN-N27MH, VGN-N37MH

Download the VGN-N2_N3-application.zip (39.2 MB) to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference. Make sure the size of the downloaded file is the same as indicated. If the size is different, please download the file again.) Then launch and install the file as below.

Sony Shared Library
1. Execute \ applications \Sony_Shared_Library.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Sony Utilities DLL
1. Execute \ applications \Sony_Utilities_DLL.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VAIO Event Service
1. Execute \ applications \VAIO_Event_Service.EXE file。|
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Setting Utility Series
1. Execute \ applications \Setting_Utility_Series.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VAIOControl Center
1. Execute \ applications \VAIO_Control_Center.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

VAIO Power Management
1. Execute \ applications \VAIO_Power_Management.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

Wireless LAN Starter
1. Execute \ applications \Wireless_LAN_Starter.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.

4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

BatteryChecker Tool
1. Execute \ applications \Battery_Checker.EXE file。
2. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
3. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement. Click I Agree to continue with the installation.
NOTE: Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. Follow the installation wizard that appears.
4. When the installation finishes, please restart the computer if needed.

3. To install Install Order
VGN-N27GH, VGN-N27SH, VGN-N37GH, VGN-N27MH, VGN-N37MH
