Sony supports Windows® 2000 Service Pack 3 for models pre-installed with Windows® 2000 Professional Edition.
If the VAIO computer has been upgraded to Windows® 2000 Professional Edition and installed the Windows® 2000 Service Pack 3, please visit the Microsoft® website for further support. Sony does not provide any support in this case.

Precautions when installing Windows® 2000 Service Pack 3
When the computer is installed with Internet Explorer version 5.5 or 5.5 Service Pack 1, user may not be able to install Windows® 2000 Service Pack 3. Error message may appear and installation will stop.
To avoid this symptom, upgrade the Internet Explorer to a higher version prior to the installation of Windows® 2000 Service Pack 3.
