Sony New Zealand Volunteers recently spent a day away from the office planting trees and gathering seeds for a plant nursery on Motuhie Island located in Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour. Home to several rare New Zealand bird species and native trees, it is currently being transformed from its former role as a farm and health camp into a protected recreational reserve.
The volunteers visited the island as part of the company’s more general activities to “impact positively on the Environment”, including power savings and monitoring paper use. It is great that Sony can do something positive to encourage native bush and wildlife to continue to flourishing locally so that future generations can enjoy them.
