Here, we would like to share with you some environmental activities in this region :

New Zealand: Island escape benefits the New Zealand environment
Sony New Zealand Volunteers recently spent a day away from the office planting trees and gathering seeds for a plant nursery on Motuhie Island located in Auckland’s Waitemata Harbour. Home to several rare New Zealand bird species and native trees, it is currently being transformed from its former role as a farm and health camp into a protected recreational reserve. The volunteers visited the island as part of the company’s more general activities to “impact positively on the Environment”, including power savings and monitoring paper use. It is great that Sony can do something positive to encourage native bush and wildlife to continue to flourishing locally so that future generations can enjoy them.

Australia: Carbon-free Travel
Sony Australia has been in partnership with Landcare Australia for 6 years and in April 2008, it committed to offsetting carbon emissions generated by its corporate car fleet and air travel through Landcare’s CarbonSMART initiative. Sony Australia is doing its part in the fight against global warming by joining this initiative and contributing to sustainable environmental management. Its contribution is expected to fund the plantation of around 18,000 tennis courts worth of trees.
