Singapore: A Marriage of Fun & Science
Organized by the Sony group of companies in Singapore, Sony Creative Science Awards (SCSA) is an annual toy invention competition where school children between 7-12 years of age compete to create innovative toys that demonstrate at least one scientific principle. Now in its 11th year, the SCSA competition saw over 3,200 entries and continues to provide opportunities for children to learn about science beyond the classroom in a fun and engaging way.

Hong Kong: Spreading the Love Around
“Spread Love, Broaden Kids’ Horizon” involved over 60 children from a youth centre at the Salvation Army Tuen Mun Integrated for Young People. Sixty SHK staff including family members and friends volunteered to bring these children to the Science Museum to help broaden their insights into science in an interactive and fun way. The children were from needy families or whose working parents were unable to find time to accompany them.

Taiwan: Sony Taiwan’s Campus Correspondent Summer Camp
This Campus Correspondent project was supported by all the Sony Group Companies in Taiwan including partners from influential TV station, TVBS, to attract greater media interest. 89 children from 16 elementary schools in remote areas were taught them how to craft human interest stories on the people in their communities. The 3 day event allowed the children to use Cyber-shot digital cameras and Handycams as tools to express their creativity in a specially arranged press conference using the TVBS studio facilities.
