14-bit DXP Converter
The 14-bit DXP is able to reproduce pictures more naturally with an enhanced dynamic range. Its better signal processing ability decreases digital noise for clearer, cleaner, and more defined images. This is especially effective for darker images.
High resolution 211K pixel design helps provide excellent viewing and image playback clarity. The Hybrid system consists of a transmissive LCD combined with a reflective LCD.
32MB Internal Memory
This 32MB Internal memory provides extra storage space in a camera. This means that you can continue to shoot even when your Memory Sticks are full, or if you forgot to bring your Memory Stick.

Histogram Indicator
The histogram indicator shows the luminance distribution of the image before it is captured. Displayed with the live image on the LCD screen, the histogram allows the subject brightness to be evaluated and adjusted (if necessary), so as to optimise the camera’s exposure control.
Magnifying Glass Mode
This mode lets you shoot perfect images from as close as 1cm, allowing you to magnify images up to 3.3x.
Manual Exposure
Flexible Exposure control is provided with Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Manual Exposure modes. Program Shift lets you select aperture/shutter speed combinations for direct control of motion and depth of field, while still in Program AE mode.
Ultra-small and ultra-thin, Memory Stick makes storing and transferring your image easy. Available in various capacities. Memory Stick represents an inexpensive memory storage solution for recording and transferring digital data.
MPEG Movie 4TV MODE
By capturing full-screen (640x480) high frame rate (up to 30fps) video with stereo sound in MPEG4 format, DSC-M2 video clips have 50% more horizontal resolution and take up 1/4 the file size. This allows more clips to be stored and longer continuous recording.
PictBridge
Print without a PC! Simply connect the printer to a PictBridge-enabled digital camera or camcorder via a USB cable. Use the camera's LCD display to select the images and input them onto the printer’s control panel and start printing.
Picture Effects
Unique pictures are easy to achieve by applying the Picture Effects filters, four different effects are available.
The digital camera acts as your portable photo album, storing up to 1 100 digital still images (VGA 640 x 480) and it can record the initial 5 seconds of digital videos in MPEGMOVIE 4TV format.

For greater exposure accuracy, Sony's pre-flash itself. When the picture is taken, the flash fires twice- once to illuminate the subject and determine the correct exposure, then a second time to record the image with the best exposure possible.
