Overview
AIT-3Ex is the perfect upgrade drive for any current AIT user. With backwards compatibility with all of the lower capacity generations of AIT (including the Turbo media ), you can take confidence that your older tapes can be used as needed. However, if you want to get the maximum benefit from AIT-3Ex, then start using the 150GB media and gain the high 18MB/s performance that the drive can offer.

- AIT-3Ex has been designed with past, but also future in mind. Not only will today's AIT-4 drive support the new AIT-3Ex media , but also the forthcoming AIT-5 drives too.
- Capacity : 150GB native, 390GB* compressed. Backward compatible with AIT-1, AIT-2 and AIT-3 (including Turbo) media offering an ideal upgrade path current AIT users.

- Highest density in tape with a 3.5-inch form factor for easy integration into existing systems. In addition, drives are available in both black and white bezels and 5.25" rails for convenience, flexibility, and easy integration into a variety of environments.
- Super Head Cleaner mechanism helps reduce the need for periodic cleaning
- AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) Media causes less cleaning requests, long head life, less failures and greater data integrity.
- Efficient data management with Memory In Cassette (MIC) and Remote Memory In Cassette (RMIC)
