Tape Scratch
Horizontal Scratches
Contamination on tape guides and/or the cassette guide pins can cause horizontal scratches.
- A drop in RF wave form at the position caused by tape scratches. Picture noise will occur at the position of the scratches.
Helical Scratches
Contamination on a video head can cause helical scratch.
- Decrease of RF output on the scratch portion. Result to magnified noises on the screen.
