ANSI ID-1 format compliant SD 19mm data cartridges
Sony SD-1 data cartridges comply with the ID-1 ANSI (American National Standards Institute) standard. Established with the goal of achieving data interchangeability, the ID-1 format has proven successful in a wide range of high-speed data storage applications.
High-speed, high capacity recording
For large volumes of data, one L-size cartridge can store up to 100GB, while one M-size cartridge can store up to 40GB of data. Tapes can likewise be written or read at transfer rates of up to 512Mbps using a Sony DIR-1000H drive.
HCL binder for archival stability
The HCL (High Cross-Linkage) binder provides a strong cross-linked polymer chain structure and outstanding durability to withstand the repeated use of real-world applications. Sony's original surface technology also minimizes increases in friction during tape transport for increased error-rate stability.
Convenient cartridge case
A timesaving case design helps identify and retrieve the desired cartridge whether it is stored with the spine in a vertical or horizontal position, thereby simplifying searches through large numbers of cartridges. Likewise, the newly designed reel stopper minimizes reel vibration during transport.
