AIT
AIT-5 Features
Dynamic Tracking
Each of the 4 Read Heads uses Read Dynamic Tracking to:- Control head position during reading with the use of the actuator.
- Enable to trace the narrow track path even if it is not straight.

GMR Head
AIT-5 employs more sensitive heads which handle higher recording densities and thus enable greater capacity per media cartridge
GMR Technology Benefit:- High performance !!
- Almost 10dB higher S/N than MIG head
GMR Head Technology is used to:
- Increase output level for very narrow track pitch
- Preserve SN margin for backward compatibility

AME III
Technology OverviewAIT-5 Media uses the new AME III technology. This technology improves upon its predecessor, AME II, with a new method for applying the magnetic layer to the tape and an enforced back coating layer with newly developed additive for stable operation.
AME III media realizes high output and low noise through an improved metal evaporated method, resulting in smaller magnetic particles.
A newly developed back coating for AIT-5 reduces guide friction and further improves its reliability.
New Metal Evaporated Technology
Evolving from the AME II technology, the new AME III manufacturing delivers even smaller magnetic particles. This technology enhancement creates a recording media tape which provides higher output with lower noise, that improves the performance of the newly introduced GMR head.
A visual representation of the new AME III technology innovations shows the benefits of AIT-5.
New Back Coating
A newly developed back-coating technology with new additive delivers a stronger and more friction-resistant surface for improved long term running stability.
A new back-coating was developed for AIT-5 to further improve reliability from AME and AME II.
