BCT-D

New binder for high output

Sony's new Binder has more anchor segments to efficiently disperse and pack the ultra-fine magnetic particles. A new calendering system creates a smoother tape surface to permit closer head contact. The result is 260mT retentivity and 125 kA/m coercivity for +2dB higher output compared to Betacam SP tape.

New lubricant for high durability

A new Lubricant developed for BCT-D helps optimize contact between heads and tape, while reducing wear. Together with the new binder, this further enhances durability.

Designed for long-term tape compatibility

Digital Betacam's advanced narrow tracking technology and BCT-D's low-shrinkage tape technology promote compatibility between tapes and hardware for smooth editing and post-archival playback. An anti-static cassette lid avoids dust attraction, while overlapping case edges shut out dust during storage.
