In System Information, click Tools, and then click System File Checker to start it. 2. Select [Scan for altered files] (default setting), and click [Start]. 3. The "File Corrupted - USER.EXE" dialog appears. You receive the message, "System File Checker identified that the following file may be corrupted. File: USER.EXE Location: C:\Windows\System You should restore this file from your installation disks." 4. You also find "What do you want to do?" section on the screen. # Update verification information # Restore file # Ignore

Sony has confirmed the problem. An error occurs, however, it may not affect the function. Select [Update verification information] in the "What do you want to do?" section. However, there is a possibility for the symptom to occur again. [Remarks] Sony already Microsoft to check out this problem since it seems to be a problem of System File Checker (Windows 98).
