Notice to Owners of Sony PAL-Format DVD Camcorders

Sony has recently learned that its PAL-format DVD camcorders "DCR-DVD100E" and "DCR-DVD200E" may exhibit a problem where sound data recorded with those camcorders may result in distortion or noise. Sony has confirmed that this problem will only occur under certain circumstances. To reassure customers, Sony would like to offer a free inspection and repair service to customers of the affected DVD camcorders.

Sony sincerely regrets the inconvenience which may affect customers and will make the utmost effort to prevent this type of incident from happening again.

Sony NTSC-Format DVD Camcorders (DCR-DVD100/DVD200/DVD300) are free from this problem.

DCR-DVD100E:
Sound data recorded through audio input may result in distortion or noise.

DCR-DVD200E:
Sound data recorded through audio input and mic-input during live video recording may result in distortion or noise.
