Here's an update regarding my use of the Sony D50! Two weeks ago I performed concerts in MInneapolis, MN & Canton, OH ---Four-Hand Piano with Keiko Matsui. During rehearsals for the Keiko Matsui concert, we used the PCM-D50 to record and review our performances. The convenient size, and built-in mics made it easy to obtain quality recordings. Transferring the files to Keiko's and my laptop computers was very easy with the USB output. After becoming familiar with the D-50's features, I've wanted to have it with me at all my rehearsals. It has become a valuable tool in preparing my music. The aspect that impresses me the most is the high quality of the sound from the built-in mics. I experimented with different directional placement, from the wide-spread to the "figure-8" position. This gives me a lot of variety to the character of the sound. The Sony designers really did a great job with this device. - Bob James |
